Finnish education delegation trip to Hong Kong

Last week I (polkuni) had the pleasure of hosting the business delegation who came to Hong Kong as part of the group with the Director General of the Finnish National Agency for Education, Mr. Olli-Pekka Heinonen. The goal of the business delegation was to see and learn more of the Hong Kong market and the strategic positioning of Hong Kong when considering both China and SE Asia. In order to give a broad overview of Hong Kong in this context we visited investHK where Ms Doris Fong, Head of Creative Industries at InvestHK gave a great overview of the market and what investHK do.

The next stop on the trip was to make a visit to Cyberport, the center established by the HK Government for the incubation and acceleration of startup companies, to date two unicorn companies and come out of the programs at Cyberport.

The Finnish teams also had the opportunity to listen to presentations about the markets in Asia by pearson group and about the culture behind the attitude and thinking of Hong Kong parents by a local expert. After this there was an opportunity to mix with EdTech companies based on the Cyberport campus and learn how they are addressing the market with their products.
